Sangeet Kala Kendra was established in 1954 in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, by the renowned artist Shri Devi Lal Ji Samar, a visionary in the field of Indian folk and performing arts. He was also the founder of Lok Kala Mandal, Udaipur, an esteemed institution dedicated to preserving and promoting Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage.
A distinguished artist of folk traditions, Shri Devi Lal Ji Samar played a significant role in popularizing traditional art forms such as Kathputli (puppet dance) and Bhawai. Through his dedication and efforts, these unique art forms gained recognition and were passed on to future generations.
